If you’re moving to San Antonio to pursue your passion for nursing, San Antonio College should be at the top of your list. With 300 to 400 students enrolling in its Nursing program, it’s easily the best nursing school in San Antonio.
Its curriculum is considered outstanding and its program is highly competitive. Most of its graduates are able to get positions in a lot of acute and long-term health care facilities there.
The school’s nursing program lasts for two years. During such time, students are prepared to become registered nurses who are able to provide safe, patient-centered, and quality patient care.
Once you’ve successfully completed its nursing education program, you can take the National Council Licensing Examination for registered nurses.
Next on the list is the University of the Incarnate. It offers two different undergraduate programs to its students. One is the traditional Bachelor of Science in Nursing program and the other is the Registered Nurse to Bachelor of Science in Nursing Program.
The traditional program gives you the chance to graduate, apply to take the NCLEX-RN, and be a certified registered nurse. You can enter the program after completing your high school or the prerequisite courses determined by its School of Nursing.
The Galen College of Nursing offers Vocation Nursing Programs as well as RN Bridging programs for licensed vocational nurses.

The Baptist Health System School of Health Professions offers different nursing degrees – Associate of Applied Science in Nursing, Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Licensed Vocational Nursing.
When applying for admission, immunizations and CPR for Health Care Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association should be completed beforehand. A copy of high school diploma/GED or college transcripts should be passed upon application.
The traditional BSN program offered by Ila Faye Miller School of Nursing and Health Professions is fully accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education. Application to the program is possible in two ways – by directly applying to the university or through Nursing CAS.
To be considered for the program, a minimum of 2.5 cumulative GPA in all coursework and 2.5 in all science coursework are required. A minimum score of 75 in all sections of HESI Admission Assessment™ (A2) exam is also required. The prerequisite coursework should be completed as well.
Abilene Christian University offers the traditional bachelor’s degree in nursing and an online Doctor of Nursing Practice. As part of your application, you need to submit your official high school or college transcript to the university’s Office of Admission as well as have your ACT or SAT sent to them. You will also need to pay the nonrefundable application fee which is equivalent to $50.
