Was there ever a time when a song reminded you of someone or something? Maybe one song reminds you of your favorite clinical instructor and another reminds you of your best friend.

Music brings color to our lives. Nurses have favorite songs too, and the following is a list of 8 songs that will surely remind you of Nursing:

1. R.E.M.: “Everybody Hurts”

Nurses always make sure that they show empathy and care to patients day in and day out. This song will definitely remind us of nurses and their compassion to people who are sick and hurt, and those who are in need of someone to take care of them.

2. Bee Gees “Stayin’ Alive”

This funky and hip Bee Gees song always reminds us of so much positive energy and how people need to stay strong no matter how hard life gets. Patients and nurses alike need to remember that they all need to stay positive and stay very much alive.

3. The Beatles: “Help!”

People need help every day, and they don’t just need somebody, they need nurses who will help them feel so much better in a matter of time. The Beatles made this point clear when this song was released. Nurses will be able relate to it, because they help people every single day.

4. The Cranberries: “Zombie”

Nurses consider this as one of their top picks. We all feel like a walking zombie after going through a long overtime or an extremely toxic night shift. This will definitely remind you of your Nursing clinicals once you finally go on a vacation and you look back to those long working hours and toxic shifts. Yes, Zombie Mode on.

5. The Beatles: “Hard Day’s Night”

Another song by The Beatles, this will also remind us of how much work we give just to help other people, comfort them and make them feel better. It also reminds us how fulfilling it can get at the end of the day, even if it was literally a hard day’s night.

6. The Fray: “In Over My Head”

Nursing is all about helping other people and putting yourself out there to serve. It is also about knowing it, not just in your head, but also in your heart, that Nursing is something that you hold on to every single day.

7. The Ramones: “I Wanna Be Sedated”

This great and exciting song is one of our all-time favorites, not just while working, but also even when we are out partying. “Just put me on a wheelchair, get me on a plane. Hurry, before I get insane. Twenty four hours to go, I wanna be sedated.” Need I say more?

8. Taylor Swift ft. The Civil: “Safe and Sound”

“Just close your eyes, the sun is going down. You’ll be alright, no one can hurt you now. Come morning light, you and I will be safe and sound.” This song is for nurses who had a tough day. Every nurse should know that tomorrow is a new day, and it will be better.
